He joined the cast of We Got Married on 3 October 2009, coupled up with Brown Eyed Girls member Ga-in. Although they were initially only supposed to feature for the Chuseok special, their appearance brought in the highest ratings yet for Season 2, and they were announced a permanent couple.

Jokwon was diagnosed with H1N1 on 28 October  2009, causing him to postpone filming We Got Married. The next day, a representative stated that Jokwon was recovering quickly after treatment.
